MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: I received a letter in the mail about: Property Taxes / Tax Assistance / Etc...

A: Great! Yes, we sent a letter to a few people in the area. Texas Tax Help is a local organization that assists people with options on their past-due property taxes. We specialize in creating options and solutions for people who may be behind on their property taxes and facing tax sales or those who already had their home sold at a tax sale and are at risk of losing the home. It looks like you may have received a notification from the county about past-due property taxes and an imminent tax sale. We don't think this process is fair, so we inform you that there are options besides going to tax sale.

Q: Who are you?

A: We are a local organization in Texas that works with past-due homeowners on their property taxes at risk of losing their homes to tax sales. Our team of professionals has worked in the community since 2008. After coming across several people who either didn't know they were losing their homes or need more information on the tax sale process, our team created Texas Tax Help to reach out and offer information and options.

Q: Where are you located

A: We are located right here in Indiana! Our mailing address is STREETADDRESS. We don't have a walk-in office as most of our teammates prefer to work from home. We do live and work here in the local community.

Q: Are you real estate agents

A: No. We are not real estate agents and we are not contacting you about listing your property. We work directly with you and don't ask for the commissions or concessions most real estate agents mandate.

Q: Why did I get this letter

A: Indy Tax Care is a local organization that assists people with options on their past-due property taxes.

Q: What solutions/options do you offer? (How can you help)

A: After gathering some quick information and allowing our team 24-48 hours to review, our team will call you back with information and options on what we can do. Since everyone is in a different spot, we take the time to carefully listen to what you are currently going through and what you would like to do. From there, we can usually leave you with one of a couple of options which include:

  1. A Standing Cash Offer: This is a full price, sometimes higher than market value, offer for your property that can pay off the past-due taxes and leave you with money in your pocket instead of some bidder at the auction. We usually leave these open for 30 days, giving you time to review it in detail and compare it to other options.
  2. Tax Voucher: This is a partial amount of funds paid directly to the county on your past-due property taxes that do not need to be paid back.
  3. Short-term Tax Loan: This is a full amount of funds paid directly to the county on your past-due property taxes that do need to be paid back following the loan terms. A short-term loan is held at the title company and runs for 6-12 months with a pre-determined fixed interest rate.
  4. Grass Cutting / Trash Removal: Many people need extra lawn care or trash removal with no way to remove them, especially if the county is adding an additional fee each month. Our team has options and services to help at no cost to you.

Right now, we ask a couple of basic questions and learn more about what you are looking to accomplish or what assistance you qualify for. Once I notify the team, it takes about 24-48 hours for one of them to call you back and either go over potential options or answer questions.

Q: Do you pay-off all my past-due property taxes

A: We don't have an unlimited amount of funds. Our team tracks each request on a first-come, first-served basis. We have options that can assist with paying some or all of your past-due taxes so you don't lose your house to tax sale.

Q: What is your role

A: I am an assistant tax specialist. My role is to connect with those looking for options or assistance besides tax sale. I go through a very important set of questions and alert the team to create solutions. It takes 24-48 hours for a teammate to respond. We have hundreds of requests and respond on a first-come, first-served basis.

Q: Why do you need my property information if the county already provides it

A: Part of the reason we get so many requests is due to the county's need for more information and cooperation. Sometimes the county only assembles certain information available or makes it harder to get. The hardest part of my job is talking to frustrated homeowners who were let down by the county.
